The Italian made Gibus Med Open Fly is a patented, unique and distinctive product.  Modern and well designed, characterised by a support structure in painted aluminium and stainless steel together with the original arched solution giving it the zigzag appearance. 

The fabric used is PVC Opatex manufactured by Giofex in Italy.  The PVC anti UV blackout cover protects against harmful sun rays and blocks out heat, keeping the air cool in the shaded area.  The fabric is stretched and opened via a patented system of lateral pantographs which tension the two sides of fabric. The zigzag design allows for the rainwater to drain along the sides so the guide can be installed without inclinations. The discharge of rainwater is guaranteed also when the cloth is folded.

Configuration is available in the Freestanding Island version with four or six posts, or in the Wall Mounted Leaning version. The Double Module version can be installed up to 7 metres long.  

Movement of the fabric cover is transmitted on lateral guides with a high-resistance timing belt. It can be operated manually by crank or by the motorised Somfy system with standard activation, RTS remote control or IO-Homecontrol.  Installation of an automated sensor option is available to detect wind strength if it exceeds over 40 km/h.  The control system will automatically manage the extension and retraction of the fabric, even when you are not there.
